Times table practise is essential for all children from Year 1 to Year 6 (and beyond!). At Hythe we subscribe to Times Table Rockstars which can be found here. There is also an 'add-on' within this site called 'Numbots' which helps children to become more fluent with their general number facts.

Year R: Our Year R children are learning all about animals and how to care for them. They are reading stories about animals and learning about wildlife in our local area. If you are able to, why not head into the New Forest for a wildlife spotting walk?! If the spring showers are too much for outdoor adventures then here are some lovely stories that reinforce the message of looking after animals: Look after us by Rod Campbell or I am a bunny by Ole Risom and Richard Scarry. You could also watch the video about Tim at the Minstead Trust, who is well-known for how caring he is towards the animals - talk about what he is doing to help look after the animals.
Years 1 and 2: This half-term, Years 1 and 2 are learning all about the seasons. There's lots of information and video clips about seasons if you click here on BBC Bitesize and there's a great interactive game to try out too - just click here to have a go!

Years 3 and 4: This half-term, Years 3 and 4 are learning all about their local area, they'll not only be visiting Hythe but mapping out journeys and comparing other places to Hythe. If you have access, why not zoom in on Google Maps to find a new route from your house to another place in the local area (the park, school, a friend's house etc). Have a go at writing some directions for someone else to try and follow!
In Art, the children will be finding out all about Andy Warhole and having a go at creating artwork in the same style. There's a step-by-step video here that children can follow to create a doughnut picture in the style of Andy Warhol (it doesn't have to be paint, coloured pencils or chalks would work too!).
